The Diamond Cafe was this weeks stop for Me & My Friends. Not a very big seating area...about 15 tables. We were there for TJ's Texas BBQ...the special on Wed. nite til 9 p.m. For $11.95 we got BBQ ribs & chicken (large serving of both with excellent sauce), baked beans, potato salad (I opted for grilled veggies-not a problem to substitute), wonderful moist cornbread and just enough peach cobbler to end the meal. Our meat was lukewarm when it arrived at the table, but who says bbq has to be hot...you're eating with your fingers, right? Service was excellent. The down side...it's a bit dark and difficult to read the menu and seating this time of year is next to a cold window or the opening/closing door...warmest spot is right in front of the gas heater. For Wed. nite, reservations are recommended, so find some dining buddies, put on an extra pair of socks and enjoy the BBQ.

This is one of Erie’s little treasures…and you know the food is good because the parking lot is always full. I am partial to the Chicken & Asparagus Salad; and you cannot go wrong with any of the homemade soups. The staff is always quick and attentive if you need to get in and out during the week.
