Is Diningverse a restaurant directory?

Diningverse is MUCH MORE than the usual restaurant directory. You can find detailed information about the best local restaurants including Menus, Specials, Photo Galleries and more. Best of all, you can keep track of the restaurants your friends recommend, let your friends know which restaurants you like, create your own restaurant directory and keep it handy or send it to your friends, stay on top of what's happening in the restaurants within your area, and much more.

Why are some restaurants not listed?

When deciding how to populate Diningverse, we chose to let our patrons suggest and recommend their favorite restaurants, after all, they are the ones using Diningverse to find great local restaurants. Diningverse is literally being populated by the Diningverse community. So if you don't see your favorite restaurant listed, go ahead and suggest it.

Why don't you list chain restaurants?

Chain restaurants (franchises) typically have their own marketing departments or spend considerable coin on external marketing agencies. Independent restaurant owners generally do not have the marketing dollars to dedicate to this. We believe the deciding factor for online exposure should be the quality of the food and service rather than the online marketing budget.

Why are there no negative comments about the restaurants?

Diningverse patrons use the site to find local dining gems. If you were looking for a place to dine, you wouldn't ask someone where they've had their worst experiences. An occasional mishap at a restaurant should not give it a bad name. The Diningverse positive approach uses recommendations and rewards restaurateurs who concentrate their efforts on pleasing their customers. The best restaurants get the most recommendations and that floats them to the top of the Diningverse listing. If you don't like a restaurant, don't recommend it. Optionally, send them your 'complaint' using the contact area of their profile.

Why some restaurants don't have a menu listed?

These restaurants have been suggested by Diningverse patrons but the restaurant listing has not yet been claimed by the restaurant owner and turned into Diningverse restaurant website. The info on the restaurant is very basic and that's why we call it a basic profile. These profiles may get up to five recommendations and are always listed below the full restaurant websites (these ones do have a menu listed).
